Was I right to fold?

This was real tough as I hit the flop more or less how I would like, villan I have no read on.

Party Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
9 players


Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is UTG+1 with
UTG calls, Hero calls, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, 4 folds, 4 folds, BB checks.

Flop: ($1.1, 4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $1, 2 folds, UTG raises all-in $10.9, Hero folds.
Uncalled bets: $9.9 returned to UTG.

I literally did fold this one. I had 8 bucks left at Party Poker and as this is the smallest NL they have.....was trying to build up from the 8 bucks I had left. I didn't have a read on this chap and if I called with his K high flush I was buggered.+

Anyway I finnished the evening playing at the same table with $120.

If I had even another buyin at Party I would have called for sure....obviously.

Does that make my fold any better?

about as bad, because your logic isn't right. I doubt anyone in this world can't replace a 8$ bankroll or they shouldn't be playing in the first place.

Calling is obviously +EV so it must be done.

There is no way I can fold that hand, you still have outs for a str8 flush as well. He could easily have a set, 2 pair or lower flush.

Folding that is mega weak, for every 1 time you come up against the over-flush you will come up against a weaker hand another 9 times.

Thanks Mike. I am going to work my bankroll now solely at Party. Buying in for 10$ until I have the sufficent roll.

I have now built this 8$ into 160$ in 3 days. So am going to continue doing this.

I made the mistake of moving to 50NL too quickly and went bust completely although I should have moved down.
