Checked around the flop and then on the turn I wanted someone to catch up a little so I slowed down. Then I hated the river and was looking to check call.

Your turn check is horrible. The board is already so coordinated that you don't need anyone to catch anything, someone could have a Q or a flush draw and call your bet, even better someone could slowplay trip 9 and raise your bet, someone even could have a straight. If they don't have a hand by turn there is almost nothing that they can catch and be ready to bet on such a dangerous board.
