He checks the flop, checks the turn, and then fires out on a pretty harmless card? Has he played this way before with a monster? If not, I'd probably go ahead and call - he could easily be betting a smaller two pair here.

To Kuso/Bria/Monk, etc. Would you play this hand in a similar fashion? Not wanting to get too out of line with what I'd consider a marginal hand, but maybe risking a free card that can take the pot from you.

I play it the same. I fold preflop if someone breaks both my hands or something.

His river bet looks like genuine unadulterated

...... He could have a straight but if you've seen him bluffing before (or even if you haven't but have a strong sniff he's a loose cannon, as his preflop performance would suggest) it's definitely time to take a look with top two. That turn check, river bet is fishy as hell. If he has the straight thank him kindly for his charitable free card and make sure you make your boat with it next time ....
