Keep plugging RR, it just takes one nice rush and it all changes in a hurry. If it makes you feel any better I just passed 10k hands at $100 NL on PAC and I'm in the red. Up and down, up and down, so goes the life of a poker player.

He's right. I just cleared the mothly Party bonus yesterday, and I didn't see a single win/loss of a buy in the whole time. Not one.

Those guys are classic weak/tight.

When I play a patient and relaxed game I win - that simple.

Well I haven't been by with an update in awhile, mostly because there's not all that much to report in terms of results. Results have just been getting me worked up lately as you all know.

There is a great thread in the bankroll forum started by Lupar about why we play and plyaing for fun vs. a profession, and I took some of the comments to heart in that thread. Like a lot of posters here, I have never nor have any plans to make poker my primary/sole source of livelihood - online poker came much too late for me, having established myself in a stable and reasonably lucrative career and all. I'm not going to give that up.

Anyways, my point is, that I think posting daily results, etc. doesn't really serve all that much of a purpose. I tend to get much too worked up when I have a couple of losing sessions and not give myself enough credit when I have a couple of big winners. As such, starting now until I fee like changing my mind, I'm not posting my daily results anymore. I'll say that my bankroll is over $800 once again and my winrate is on the rise after 10K hands at Party $25 NL (and boy do I not regret moving from UB - what a difference). I just might make it yet.

I do have a confession - I've been bitten by the MTT bug. So much so that I want to establish a separate bankroll and play at least 2-3 per week (on UB, the tourneys there are much much smaller and require proportionally less luck than say a Party 2,500 $5 event) and the blind structure is good.

I'll be making some periodic and small withdrawls from my ring roll to establish a bankroll on UB so that I can play $5 tourneys and lower (100 entries = $550). I've got $100 on Prima that I'm gong to yank, about $100 on UB as of press time, so the remaining $350 or so will come from my ring game winnings in installments so that I don't unneccessarily imperil my roll.

My long term goal is to gain as much experience as possible and improve at both ring and MTT play - and to eventually:

1. Win a major online tourney ($200 or above buy-in)

2. Play in the WSOP ME (just playing will be fine, I really don't expect to contend in this lifetime, but then again there's Chris Moneymaker... )

3. Be strong enough of a player to play $1000 NL or higher and be proficient enough to play it either FR or 6-max.

4. All while keeping a poker/life balance, which has been difficult over the last few months for me.

All three are a tall order, but that's basically what the plan is, with of course plenty of profiting along the way.

BR (ring) = $829.50
BR (MTT) = $160.77 (includes $100 to be yanked from Prima)

Sunday, July 16, 2006

Well another week of poker done with. Overall a good week, no horror stories or overly frustrating ring sessions to report, which is always a good thing. Ring BR sits at over $900 now, and the PTBB/100 is getting there after the first 10K hands at Party were breakeven. About 12.5K hands now.

I may wait until I reach the 25K hand mark before I start adding to my MTT bankroll. I'd like to move up to $50 NL as soon as I reach my hand/winrate goal and not have to wait to get my roll to $1,000. Obviously if I don't hit my 5PTBB/100 then I go nowhere, but I would be able to roll myself over at UB twice as fast (or at least some degree faster) with $50 ring winnings rather than $25. So no transfer as of yet.

MTT's were actually pretty frustrating this week - played a few $1 events -- got the money in at all times with the best hand, and managed to lose well OTM in all events. I'm not upset at it, that's poker, and donkey play is what you get at $1 games - you get what you pay for. So no profit this week from MTT's.

BR (ring) = $908.81 +$141.00
BR (MTT) = $157.53 -$8.80 (played one $5 event as well)

God week Runner! Glad to see it. My week was frustrating playing MTTs this week also. I was in position to go Final Table 3 times and got em in with the best each time and Busto! Keep it up.

Monday, July 17, 2006 - $1,000 entry

No real content tonight - just wanted to post a milestone - after many struggles with both my game and mindset, I finally after 4 months of playing $25 NL have managed to get my ring bankroll to eclipse the $1,000 mark.

As I've laid out, I will not be moving up to $50 NL just yet - after a killer run of sessions lately (which I hope is a reversal of my bad run over the last couple of months), the PTBB is getting there and even though I expect to cool off soon (can't win 4 buy ins every night), I'm confident that I will meet my criteria and will be moving up to $50 NL soon.

I'm not going to be making any transfers to my UB bankroll with any extra winnings above this point until I move up and get some stability at the new level, as I'd like a buffer to go into $50 NL with in case I hit a initial slide...I'd hate to have one bad day and have to move back down right away.

BR (ring) = $1,000.89
BR (MTT) = $157.53
