Just saw the Stars front page and came here - nice result, good job!

Even better, great tournament report, v interesting indeed.

You're definitely much more aggressive pre-flop than I am ... hands like 485 (small reraise to put 1/3 stack in with 98) and especially 419 (x3 reraise put 40% of stack in w Q5) boggle my mind somewhat.

(And I'm not completely sold.... perhaps you just need better tournament reads/timing than I have)

Anyway, so ... 25/50 it is then?!

i just try to trust my reads as best as possible in tournies. when i think someones weak, i try to play back and them and force them off the hand. When you're not geting dealt a lot of great cards, you need to find ways to pick up chips. One of the best ways is to pick off steals - you get both the blinds, plus (Generally) 3x the BB from the raiser. When i notice someone raising a lot, i stop giving them credit for a hand when the bump it up, and at that point i just have to pay attention and search for a time when i've got a good spot on the table and make a play at them.

Anyways, no. i'm not moving up in limits. I've had the roll for 10/20 for a while now, but i'm still playing 1/2 and 2/4. it's where i feel comfortable and have the most success (thought the summer in general has been kinda gross for me at them).

Plus i'll be spending 20-30 grand of it on a car - something i've been planning to do for over a year now but just haven't out of concern for overspending my bank roll.

Great recap Stelvask. I was chating it up with Roy and Hard2tel the whole time and it's interesting to actually get to see the cards behind the hands so to speak. That K10 hand (#457) we were all trying to figure out what in the world you had that you'd eventually fold with those odds. And when you disconnected I about fell out of my chair! Anyway, great show man. You pretty much killed my Monday productivity though...not that I ever get much done on a Monday anway.
