maybe this is an easy one, but does anyone play this differently?

1 limper and I raise A[h] A[s] to $4 on the button, SB comes along

flop comes 8[s] J[s] 4[s]

he checks, I pot it ($8)
he check raises me to $20.

he only has about $50 more behind, so I shove in

standard? or should I be worried I am behind here?

Schtandard IMO. I'm not gonna be too happy to get it in but I figure it is +EV, you know where the nuts are and you could well be ahead. If he has a set you've got a whopping 11 outs and runner-runner J's or 8's will giver you a higher boat for the ultimate humiliation if he has a set of 4's. I think a hand like will play it like that AND will call your all-in within a millisecond so there are plently of scenarios you're ahead.

Agree with most of what Stoney said (though I don't ususally consider runner runner scenarios). You also have outs vs 2 pairs so it looks fine, even though you can expect to lose a fair proportion of the time.

A backdoor flush for example is almost 5% to hit though.

will win 29% of the time, only 25%. That is pretty significant in the long run if you think about it. Playing Omaha has made me more sensitive to this (of course backdoor draws are even more likely to hit in Omaha).

Not saying backdoor or runner-runners have much value on their own, but they can turn a marginal play from -EV to +EV.
