AA standard?

No read on the players, I think the BB is pretty new to the table (I'm playing 2 PLO tables and 2 NLT tables with no PT so..). Table average vpip is 60-70%.

I have in the small blind. EP player limps and it is folded to me, I raise to 6 and BB calls as well as the limper.

Flop comes

I bet 18 (pot), BB calls and EP folds. Turn is , I check it and he bets 17, I check/raise all-in another 72 to call.

Anyone play it differently?

I think the problem with your all-in check raise is that it makes your oponent's decision very easy, if he is holding something like AK/KQ or QQ/JJ.

So I play it the same until the turn. After he smooth calls the continuation bet I figure he basically has 3 hands:

1. A set.
2. Pair, AK, KQ, or QQ.
2. A flush draw. Since you have the ace of hearts in your hand, he doesn't have AhQh or AhJh. He can't even have KhQh, but he may have called with JTh or 89h.

If you CR him all-in and he has a set, you've just stepped into his trap while you thought you were setting one for him.

If you CR him all-in and he has AK or KQ, you're going to make it an easy fold for him when what you really want is for him to call.

If you CR him all-in and he has a flush draw, he'll probably fold BUT you've just given him the chance at a free-card and most flush draws will take it.

So I don't think the check-raise accomplishes much, but I could be missing something.

Not sure what the best option is but I would probably decide I'm not afraid of the flush draw and bet something like $25 that I thought AK might call.

A flush draw is much less likely IMO since I hold the , but of course not impossible. I figure him for either a K (most likely), a medium pair like 88-JJ, or a set. I think he will bet those hands most of the time here and if that is what he has he's only got 5-2 outs so no huge disaster giving him a freebie.

If I bet out I think a weak K might fold and a medium pair will definetely fold (of course I will go broke against a set here anyway).

Contrary to popular opinion I don't believe bad players are more likely to fold to a check/raise than a bet, quite the opposite, once they get check/raised they tend to get stubborn. Maybe they feel like they've been tricked and get pissed off, maybe they think it is a bluff, maybe they just can't go from 'bet' to 'fold' without passing 'call'.

He thought for a while and called with . River bricked and I stacked him.
