I agree, although it also makes AJ rather more probable, as well as a flush draw.

So that really means that it boils down to reads as to how this guy would play what. If he'd flat call with a flush draw, for example, then you have to lay down.

Maybe hes raising because hes solid and thats what solid players do with a set when they are deep and they think the other guy cant fold an overpair?

This is not an 'easy fold'... but the point is, you're OOP, deep, and only have AA.

If folding is so weak-tight (which might be the case, but i dont think so), then u have to raise pretty much the pot on the flop to see where u are. And then if he pushes your done with hand i assume. But what if he calls? then what? I just think you would be saving alot of money in the long run if u just muck and wait for a better spot.

Did you have any tell from how fast he raised you? It doesn't look like one of those fishy min raises, but I would put in a reraise to 135 or so. I'm definitely not folding. A good player could be easily raising with a draw there. If he calls your reraise you might try to check it down, or get more information from his bet size if he bets the turn.

I wish Kenny had given a more definitive "answer" here, as I'd be very interested.

In actuality, looking at the history here, specifically having stacked the guy a short while before with a CRAI, I like the simple fold line. You've recently shown enormous aggression and there's no reason here why you can't have AK or something.

I think a raise in this situation is completely out of the question.

In a vacuum, the best I can normally do here is flat call and hope it gets checked down. But the background of the hand to me favors the laydown. I can't say exactly why except that the background of the hand has this whole thing too emotionally charged. I'd also like the board a little more if I at least had Ah in my hand--giving runner-runner possibilities, possibilities of bluffing AKs, and also making the possibility of setting your aces at least definitely NOT create a suited board.

While I don't like the immediate laydown as habitual play, I do like it in context. You've just stacked the guy. Now get out of his way a little in a small-medium pot and let everything chill out a little.

Okay, let's see if I can fix the mess I've made of my posts in this thread.

You did a fine job explaining it Kenny.
In a case like this if Ice reraises here:

A) Guy has an overpair or onepair type hand and mostly mucks but occasionally goes all-in.

B) Guy has a set and calls/goes all-in. Ice is committed to his hand at this point and has to call. This is bad.

C) Guy has a draw and goes all-in. Again Ice is committed to his hand and calls for a coinflip. This is okay but not great.

If you want to stack off in this hand, it is far far better to call and see a safe turn and then get the money in.
You're still going broke to group B hands but now you may get more money out of group A hands and your equity against group C hands has improved a ton.
If a scare card falls you may be folding the best hand but given the hand range on the flop you're now behind more often than not.

So for an answer: for a double stack I'd often fold here on the flop but sometimes I would call and get the money in on a safe turn with either a CRAI if he's aggro or a bet-call if he's passive.
I'd lean more toward stacking off depending on images at the time, etc.

I think that's my final answer.
