How do I maximize this hand? FR $10

For some reason this hand did not convert properly, so I need to write it out.

The reason for this post is that I do not feel that I am maximizing my good hands, where I feel sure enough about my hand that I want to get a lot of money in the pot. I guess my first question would be is this one of those hands? Second is how to get as much in as possible?


I am in the BB with 11.xx
MP2 has $12.xx

I am dealt

Fold to MP2, who raises to .30. One caller, I call.

Flop is 5 T 3, rainbow pot is .90

I check, MP2 bets .60. Fold, I call

Turn is 8, no flush possible, pot $2.10

I check, MP2 bets .70

What is my best move here?

It doesn't look like he has much. But you have slowplayed more than enough. Time to raise.

If he has AK or AQ or some other nothing hand here, you probably maximize by playing it this slowly. But if he has an overpair, you definitely are not maximizing.

And you have the nuts on both the flop and the turn. So yes, this would be one of those hands where you want to get the maximum in the pot.

Check-raise to about $3 and then push the rest on the river. If he has an overpair he won't be able to fold at $10 NL. If he has nothing you weren't getting much more out of him anyway.

I said this before somewhere else, but you aren't going to get a stack every time you hit a set. Sometimes your opponent has air and isn't going to call the bets you make.

Assume opponent has something decent and it should be easier to get a stack in. In other words, bet out on the flop and hope to get raised there. If opponent has an overpair, you are most likely stacking them at NL10. But sometimes they are folding their air on the flop, and sometimes they are calling down with overs and folding the turn. I actually like a bet on the flop and a check on the turn on this board hopefully enticing a caller on the flop to bet at it.

I bet out somewhere around 2.5 and he folded. I figured it was better to try to get some money in there, and I am glad to see that I had the right idea
