He is playing this like overs, AQ? AJ? if hes passive PF then AK. You don't give me a read on him so its tough. A real passive player could easily show QQ or JJ here...it happened to me last night (almost went on tilt but thats another story altogether). So reads are important.

Assuming he is your typical player who would have raised an overpairon the flop, its safe to say he has two overcards. If you bet here, he probably folds. If you're read is wrong he calls you down with the QQ JJ or some other hand you can't beat. I just don't see any second best hands that can call you here. So I am checking behind.

Now if you tell me he is a calling station who will call overs on the river, then this is a clear cut value bet.

I think there's a wide enough range of hands that you could get called with that makes this a bet.

Yeah I think you should bet here, even against solid players you'll get some value out of your top pair here. If you get raised then you can probably fold unless of course you know this guy can do some crazy river bluff raises.

I checked behind and Villian showed . So i didnt lose any money by checking but thought afterwards that a value bet might have been +EV.

With K high after you 3 bet pre-flop, if you bet on the river, I doubt if your opponent is going to call.
