4 impossibly difficult questions causing masive disagreement

Postby DoctorHandles » Tue Sep 26, 2006 9:50 pm

Here are some NL 6-max questions that if you guys would answer would give me a bunch of information about other hands. I thought these were super easy but apparently a lot of posters have a lot of different ideas, so I'd like to hear some more thoughts.

Assume all stacks are full and there's no super reads. For preflop questions assume my postflop play is the best at the table by a decent margin.

1. UTG+1 limps, CO limps, SB completes and I have [6c]6[s] on the BB. You guys raise this?

2. UTG+1 limps and I have [Kh][Th] on the cutoff. Who does what?

3. Folds to me in CO with [Ks][Ts], I raise to $4 and button calls. Flop comes [Tc][7d][5c]. $9.50 pot, I bet $8 and he calls. Turn comes [Qs]. The pot is $25. Who fires again, who check/folds? (assume his CB is between $16-$24)

4. I raise to $4 UTG with [Ac][Qh]. UTG+1 and BB call. Flop comes [Kh][Th][5c]. Pot is $12.50. BB checks. Who likes a continuation bet of $10 here?

Thanks in advance for the help guys

1. Raise, I'm playing for full-stacks and its going to be hard to get a full-stack in with an unraised pot when I hit a set. You will also win more small pots when you miss the set.

2. Definitely raise.

3. I bet $20. Opponent is likely on a draw or has a middle PP. Fold to a raise. Sometimes I will check to induce a bluff on the river versus an aggressive player, but my standard play is to fire again on the turn.

4. No question you bet here, the tricky part is if UTG+1 calls and the turn is a brick.

1. I don't raise there.
2. Depending on the table and what type of player is where and how good everyone seems I call or fold, never raise unless UTG +1 is playing almost every hand AND the players behind are reasonably tight.
3. Potting the flop is overdoing it IMO and now you have a big pot. If you are OOP you check and evaluate based on player and action, if in position you could fire again or check. I would probably check to control pot size but would bet against some players, such as a known station.
4. Very marginal. If players have any station-like tendencies I check this without thinking. If players are respecting my bets I'll fire here.

1. raise about 15 or 20% of the time. usually just check.

2. raise about 70% of the time. limp about 30% of the time. also depends a bit on table texture.

3. usually bet, sometimes check. depends on villain. if i bet turn im definitely not putting any money in on the river. also depends whether villain is on the button or in the blinds

4. usually bet. sometimes check/fold, depending on villains.

1. I would very rarely raise this, may be 1/4 of the time, as the position is worse than UTG.
2. If Button is not superaggro I would certainly at least limp, if UTG+1 is bad I would raise.
3. I would bet less than pot on flop and I would bet turn with intention of checking the river behind, checking turn is not good with this board. Here I assume caller is one of the blinds and I have position. If the caller is button I could check turn.
4. I would rarely CB on this flop against 2 callers. Bad flop for a CB.

Wow lot of disagreement here.... enough I'll even change the title. This is NL $100 at Sunpoker, so I really don't need to mix up my play at all. I really just want to know what you guys think wins me the most $$$ the highest percentage of the time against total unknowns.

Also for hand #2 pot was $9.50 on the flop and my CB was $8, I just said I potted it to be breif but I guess that matters. Nevertheless the pot is still $25 by the turn.

Any more thoughts?
