I have full stack. BB is not a good player, I've seen him calling raises OOP with hands like A5o, Q6s. UTG is a standard shorty. I've been raising a lot especially in late position.

Preflop: UTG(80) limps, I make it 8 on CO with [Ks] [Kh], BB(200) calls, UTG calls.
Flop (25): [7h] [7s] [Td]
BB bets 12, UTG minraises to 24, I make it 45, BB calls, UTG calls.
Turn (160): [5s]
BB bets 30, UTG calls AI, I call.
River (250): [Qs]
BB bets 70, I fold.

On flop I was a bit unsure what to do and I hoped to make BB fold and play for stack with shorty.
On turn I didn't like BB lead at all but decided to just call as UTG could have me beat and there were no reason to create a side pot.
On river I supposed that BB had me beat as the main pot was capped.

Any thoughts and comments are appreciated.
Should I raise the turn?
Call river?
Fold somewhere?

Wow - nightmare spot.

I know it's sick, but I think the right play is to fold this on the flop. What could these guys be playing with that isn't beating you? What do you think they'll call an $8 raise and than lead out and min-raise a flop of 7-7-10 with? And what would the BB JUST CALL with after you put in the second raise?

The hands that they might concievably do that with are most likely J-J, Q-Q (though I'd see short-stacks and bad players re-raising hands like that pre-flop a lot), A-10 (from a total-donk) and 7-x.

Unfortunately, it's gonna be 7-x like 90% of the time. I mean, what can you really be hoping that they have so that you could be beating both of them? They both 10-x, or one has a 10 and the other has Jacks? It's just way too unlikely.

I know it sucks, but sometimes you just gotta get away as fast as you can. I can't see the BB having anything other than 7-x there.

Yeah, no one's touching this post with a 10-foot pole. Nasty situation.

FWIW, I would raise preflop to $10 or maybe $12. Might not have made a difference here though...

Some people might think it's super-weak, but I think folding the flop would be OK. I don't really like the $45 min-re-raise, although I'm not sure what a better option would be. Raising more would be committing an awful lot of money to what could be a very bad situation, and flat calling isn't going to help you out much on the turn.

As played I don't know if I can fold the river. If BB is a big enough donk that I don't give him credit on the flop/turn, then I'd have to call the river too.

Ugly....

to Alastor: ACF? I don't know what it is.

I honestly don't like to fold the flop. I don't care about the reraise from a shorty, he is bad, and I wouldn't be surprised if he would show 55. After he just calls on flop there is high probability that he doesn't have a 7. (In general I play for stack with shorty with any overpair JJ+.)

I am worried about BB, he is also not good. I agree that my flop raise could be (should be?) bigger, but I was going to fold if BB raised and I didn't want to commit any more chips than nessecary.. Moreover I think a bigger raise would put the same pressure on BB as a smaller one in this situation. (Imagine that you are BB with JJ, you lead, UTG raises, PF raiser reraises, will you call?)

On the turn I thought about folding, but the pot odds were so good that I decided to call. Moreover the pot now was a protected one and any additional action from BB would make me sure that I am beat.

I would rather fold the KK to someone who had JJ then get stacked by someone who had TT

aslo the more I think of it, if you were going to min raise to 45 and then call the 30 raise then fold the river, you would have been better off raising to 80 on that flop and folding to action

essentially the same thing in my eyes

icky hand, thanks for posting it! :)
