Here you are in the SB, which means you should be first to act after the flop.
Preflop you already have 3 limpers, and you really do not want to play AK out of position agains many callers. So you need to make that raise bigger to get it HU or even take it down directly. So I would rather make it 18, than 10.
One alternative is actually just calling, which makes it easier to get out of the hand if you do not improve on the flop. And if you hit as in this case, they are not as likley to give you credit for AK and fold.
On the flop, you have a flushdraw out there, and I assume you meant to check/raise, but I wouldn't do that risking to give a free card. Even if you bet pot-sized and take it down, it is better than a failed C/R and a flush card hitting on the turn. This is not the situation to slowplay in.
And when you bet on the turn, 25 is on the low side, if you consider the flushdraw out there. I would bet 35, and do it on the flop.
So I do not think the issue is that you didn't make more with AK. More the risk that you actually would have lost it all.
