Floped house PP would you have played this any diferently

Postby crazypony » Mon Oct 30, 2006 2:27 pm

when you flop a house with a PP i think its alright to let a opponents catch up a "little"
in order to extract max $$ . on the turn a "easy to call""feeler" bet to see if anyone may give some action, then if you get you give so to speak.

is this straight forward or would anyone play diferently.

Flop check is OK, but bet more on the turn. You need them to catch up to get alot of action, but they will chase all kinds of hands for more than a min bet.

Also, on the river, your reraise should be more than the minimum. I prefer an all in.

Ice, i am glad you basically agree with my play as far as letting them "catch up"
unfortunatly i got beat as my opponent had 33 so he flopped Quads as i sadly flopped the house. i have really been working hard on my (internet) reads and my play but
someone make me feel better by agreeing that even Phil Ivey would have played this hand through till the end. No one would have folded a house to a All in re-raise on the River. Right?

this is just one of those crazy beats right?

everything about this hand i think was played awful. 5 handed utg im raising 99. then im betting out on this flop hoping to get pfr to raise (since he only has half a buyin). certainly not firing $.50 on turn, that depends on the what actually happened on the flop. then on the river when he minraises you its either a bluff (doubtful, and hes not gonna call a minreraise) or it looks like he wants to put more money in with this hand (A3, or thinks his overpair is good.., hes not minraising with a rivered 7, hed just call), so i shove the river after the check minraise.

the way the hand played out though its obvious he has 33, im probably check folding the flop, phil ivey wouldnt put another penny into this pot with the flopped boat, always should be watching out for quads

Yes, if you flopped an over-full against someone who flopped quad, it's one of those things called an insane cold deck.

I don't want to depress you with the odds...
