I agree that heads up vs AA we are in a bad way. The numbers were in response to JDLush's erroneous comment about the playability of A2Q7



Heads up against a short stack with AA is obviously a bad spot to be in.

But we're not heads up, a third player came in. In three way simulations we have a lot of +33% equity spots on the flop, unless AAL and A2W is out (and even that isn't terrible given the side pot possibilitiy).

More on calling with A2Q7 thanks to the new graphs at propokertools.com. Below is the flop equity distribution for A2Q7 suited to the Q against the top 6% of hands ( a reasonable raising range for a short stack). If we assume just AA, it's not that different.

I think this pretty much vindicates my math and the position I've taken in this thread. Folding here is pretty bad. Even heads up it's hard to justify given the pot odds. Here's how we do three handed against a top 5% raiser and a top 10% caller (an overly tight assumption):



30% of flops will have us at positive equity. 20% of flops will have us at strongly positive equity. It won't be hard to identify which is which. We also have position.
