I guess it would work if it were a weekly thing, but I was under the impresson this would be a month-long endeavour.
I think it's a bad idea because it stops people from moving up or even taking shots at higher levels - which is what I thought this was about - helping each other improve your game, motivate your teammates and play better poker, moving up in limits. Also if someone has a particularly bad streak and wants to move down, they should most certainly not be punished for it. If the hands they play at the lower limit aren't counted towards the teams monthly total then their teammates may resent them, and they may lose even more money (the prop bet) after already losing enough that made them drop limits in the first place. By having a range of 3, it allows people to move up and down freely without restrictions.
Poker is silly.
It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.
