After I played this hand my opponent berated me, claiming that my money would be gone within the hour (then he busted half an hour later). It was great for my table image since he was goading others into calling me down light and calling me a Texas fish (of course the buggers would hit their stupid draws and drag half the pot every time but I made a lot of Sklansky bucks).
So, is my play here really that bad?
Blinds are 2.5/5, UTG has 340 and BB is super short at 90.
I've got KK52s UTG+1. UTG (villain) raises to 15, I flat call and BB comes along.
I hadn't seen a hand in 4 laps or so and the raise was kind of small so...
Flop comes QJ4 rainbow. Everyone checks. Turn is a 6 putting a club draw out (I aint got one), BB checks and now UTG bets 25 into the 50 pot. I call and BB folds, river is a red T and UTG bets 65 into the 100 pot, I call.
I figure he picked up a low draw on the turn and whiffed on the river. Felt like I had a pretty good read on this hand and it felt likely he was bluffing here, I doubt he has AA, AK or QQ/J/TT. Seems more like an A2x hand to me, the only hand I fear is something like A2Kx. He had 2358s (no clubs) and went on and on about how bad a call that was. My response was the "O RLY?" and the always classic "Who won?" of course.
Anyway... is he right? Am I a Texas fish?
