Well I had him squarely on overcards, pretty much AT-AK with AJ-AQ being most likely. After reading the responses here I tried to figure out why I was so sure he had that. Well the preflop re-raise to me indicated a high card hand, not a pair. I think he would raise bigger with a pair. But more importantly post flop was his betting pattern.
He bet big and he bet really quick. Both on the flop and the turn. What the hell kind of hand does that on this board? On the turn the board is
I'm not saying that an overpair wouldn't bet her, but when the flush arrives and the board is paired and a straight is possible... don't you have to at least stop and THINK about it?
I actually figured I was ahead when I pushed on the turn, but wanted him to fold because if he has
or something he has a lot of outs. I also felt that the way I played it he had to put me on a flush or trips. For some reason he decided to call with AQ and no spade and my pair of deuces held up.
I agree with folding preflop (not once I've raised though), but I tend to use 42o as one of my "mix up" hands.
