played in 1/2 live home game over the weekend. it started with 7 players with 2 really LAGs; after a hour, 9 players with 3 LAGs (2 to my left and 1 on my right).
the table was loose! a PF $5-6 raised pot had 5 players including at least 2 of the 3 LAGs. it wasn't shocking to have 6 players including all 3 LAGs in a raised pot, PF.
anyway, I had a TAG image but still my raises got no respect so it wasn't worth raising $8 PF. in position, i loosend up a bit...ex. limped to me, i raised with 53s, J8o/s, etc and took down some ok pots but i kept getting outdrawn by the LAGs when i had good starting hands and TPTK.
after awhile, i told myself to push harder on the flop when i'm leading....ex. 3 limpers to me, i limp with Q9s, button limps, SB completes, BB checks. pot $21, 7 players. flop 8JT rainbow (i have $45)...cks to me, i bet $15, LAG to my left goes all-in with $20, button calls, early LAG calls, back to me & i go all-in...button folds, early LAG calls. we turn up our hands, LAG to my left shows TPWK, early LAG shows 8Ko!
and i have a Q high str8...turn 8, river K.
I consider myself a solid TAG, i know when and how to make moves, and how to adjust my game based on the table dynamics...my game definiately has improved after joining the BTP forum.
Something i've started to notice, at a "loose" table one that contains 2-3 LAGs, 2-3 PAGs, 2 TAGs, basically contains more players that go on luck and instinct, i catch myself playing down to their level.
I'd like to hear from the other more experienced players if they felt this way during the first 2 years of playing NLH?
Advice?
What types of "game time" changes would you make?
