Definitely start out with PLO before trying PLO8 ... there's a lot more to the second game ... but learning PLO correctly will give a good foundation for then moving onto PLO8.
As per SH vs. FR ... I'm particular to SH myself .... but it is swingier for sure ... same as Holdem really.

That's really interesting to hear you say that Monk ... I may try my hand at a few PLO8 tables tonight. I really always thought it was the other way around ... PLO cause then you weren't having to calculate odds of the low ... getting halved or quartered ... etc etc etc. In PLO8 then ... is it equally as true that you should play tight and wait for the nuts?
