Yes, i think hes folding A8 to a push. I said he was a tilting LAG who kept bluffing. I had no reason to think he was a total idiot. I cant see him calling another $300 with A8.

However, I never really even considered pushing in. I really thought he had KJ or air.

The guy actually gave me a dirty look when I called because I took about 15-20 seconds wondering about KJ. I said otu loud " I hope I didnt slowplay myself into disaster here". I think that he thought I slowrolled him.

Min raise seems like the best option on the river. Tilters love to just see what you have to complain more. I doubt he calls the shove with a weak hand, but he'll certainly call 125 more with it. Fearing KJ here is just way too scared.

You figured he had KJ or air, but he could very easily have an Ace with this action. He plans to check/call, but you check the flop so he leads the turn and you just call. Calling the turn can make him get sheriffy if you come over the top on the river. That's why I liked calling the turn.

I'm not sure how this guy was with top pair types of hands, but there was definitely a very good reason why you felt that way- KJ or air. With that read, which if you feel it's justified, it's enough for me, I like Stoneburg's minraise suggestion.

As a generalization, when a guy like this bets $50 on the turn, I'm thinking KQ/QJ/A9-Arag or air and I want to play it like I'm trying to knock him off a bad Ace with bad timing.

did you end up having to show your cards since he insta-mucked? Even if you did, were you required to in order to win the pot, even though he mucked?

If you were able to think quickly enough, if you did show your hand, would you have rather just mucked as well, after he mucked, and take the pot anyways?
