Tom, I'm quite tempted to delete that off-topic post. We were talking about Jennifer Love Hewitt, come on...
Errrrr oh, and about NLO8... Yes it does change the game, bigtime. Becomes a serious preflop game, because the REAL serious fish in NLO8 push their stacks preflop as an underdog, which almost seems absurd, when you think about it (if you're THAT bad, why not play the pot-limit game where you lose your money slower? But the gamblers seems to gravitate towards the no-limit games, especially on Stars). So, given the NL/PL choice in O8, I'd take NL every time, personally.
If playing a reasonable amount of money (three figures and above for the buyin) you want to seriously consider IMAGE as being important in this game, more than any other (i.e. a $200 PLO game has little in image constraints, at NLO8 even at THIS level it becomes vital). You can engender a "loose/crazy" image much more easily AND take advantage of it in this game than any other. Your other main constraints are to remember that a high pair with your A2 is worth a lot more in NLO8 than PLO8, and to try to play a game that you hae at least 30-40 buyins for, because the variance will be brutal.
