KK on montone flop and safe turn. (NL400 6Max)

$2-4 NL 6Max. Opponent is a new regular, usually plays two tables, he obviously takes himself as somewhat of a serious player but only a tiny step up from the average recreational player. He has a little under 100 bbs I have him covered.

UTG limps, UTG+1 limps, I make it $22 on the button with black KK, the blinds fold UTG calls we see flop HU.

Flop comes J[d] 7[d] 4[d] ($54), he checks I bet $50 he calls somewhat quickly.

The turn is 2[s]($154), he checks, I bet $145, he shoves for $212 more.

Standard bet/fold on the turn?

Sorry if this is boring, when I run bad for extended periods of time I question pretty much everything.

I use position to check that flop to see a non-diamond before I start putting too much money in. Problem with betting that flop is that you allow a hand like [Jc] to check/raise his money in while his equity is good. If you see a turn any semi-bluff hand will be much worse off.

The way you have played your hand, betting big on flop and turn, there can be no doubt in his mind that you have what you have (a big overpair), so when he decides to get all the loot in on that turn he most likely has you crushed with a set or made flush.

I don't check the flop... if I raise it up preflop with KK i'm gonna bet the flop if it comes all lucky charms.

My line is usually to check the turn with position and call or bet the river depending.
