A very sweeping statement folks, but I'm interested in any opinions/experiences of playing limits you might consider too low for your level of experience.
Hellofa statement, I know. Either my head is stuck firmly up my own ass, or maybe I have a flavour of a point.
Me: have been playing NL for 4+ years & have thousands of hours clocked up. I have read loads of books, re-read loads of books, continually reading forums & always looking to improve my game. I've progressed from a fish playing my cards to being more focused on playing players, position, chip stacks etc blah. All on-line btw.
To the point: I've always played small time (£10-20 STT's, MTT's, HU and recently small cash games too) & did ok. Recently I cut back (nearly married) to micro stakes & I am getting my ass truly whipped!!!!!
My recent favourite was my AKs going 6x BB in a .1 to .2 cash game only to be called by some ass with 28os. I hit my flush by the river but board had paired 224 flop & he hit his 8 on the river. The board looked crap, I had him down for trips, but the other cards were something like 8 10 so I called his all-in push out of disbelief.
It happens regularly in STT's where I usually have a high ROI where I try putting in some moves & they just haven't a clue what I just did & I get called by all sorts of crap. I would love to move up to games of 100$+ cuz I think I could hold my own & then some. But then again, maybe my head is stuck up my ass
Sigh, needed to vent that. More than answering this cuz I know the answer, figured I would be interested in hearing similar stories...
Cheers,
Rixter
