Without a read, I generally fold...I want to know his range when he does this. If it's just 2pr/sets, then it's a trivial fold...if he does it with 1 pr and draw hands, it's a raise.

Thanks for the comments, I think without a read it really is a very tough spot... anyhow the results:

I did the worst thing possible and flat called on the flop in a futile attempt to keep the pot small. Turn was , villain leads 1/2 pot which I call, river blanks and I call his shove, villain shows [Th].

I really really botched that hand.
