Yesterday he straddled. There was a call. Then the button who just got massively bad beated shoves all in for $35. BB calls and Tony says "I'll call blind to help you out". Theres one more call.

Pot is $140. I saw Tonys cards and he has 73o. Flop [7c][4d]. BB bets $50. Tony calls, the other guy also calls.

Pot $290 with $150 of it being the side pot. Turn . Checked around.
Pot same...River is come brick. BB checks, Tony fires $130. They both fold and Tony wins the eintre pot because the all in guy has nothing.

BB had AQ and the other guy also said he had the 7's beat. I actually like his river bet but I wouldnt do it every time.

given the adjusted stacks a CB is mandatory. Against a "Tony" I won't fire a 2nd bullet often that's for sure. Sit to his left LOL.

He sounds like he's a crafty bugger, and his "no fear" of losing $ is what makes him very dangerous constantly pressuring his opponents. He style probably crushes the Weak-tighties. (me 9mos ago).

When I first started I did ok against guys like him, then as I got "better" guys like him drove me nuts, they were like a 2nd rake when they were at my table LOL. Only recently have I gotten to the point where I can play against the Tonys (TY BTP) and not hemorrhage chips.

heck Ice, if you are pretty sure he'll fold to a bet it's a no brainer.

Yes his style does beat the W/Ts. He does apply pressure but that play is taken away if Im the on eapplying the pressure and I know his cards. Theres virtually no way he can win this hand withough flopping a 3

Im almost positive he'll fold to a bet, but I also think he might bet if I check and theres no way he will call a CRAI. The only possible problem with checking is that he might push. It think thats a rare possibity though.

While you do know his cards, you still do not KNOW what he'll do, and YOU ARE BEHIND. He could want to go home and say "fuggit", or put you on AK (missed) and call you or shove. I'm definitely CBing here, but giving up if he calls. But that's my Nit side talking here. You do know that betting is the only way for you to win, other than hitting your 6 outs. Another way: are you trying to win pots or win $?

In it's simplest form you make $ betting when you are ahead and fold when you are behind (you know what I mean). If you bet when you KNOW you are behind it's a touchier area, but if you have a read go with the gut. Takes stones, but the great players can do this. If he's exposing his cards, isolate but then bet/raise when you are ahead and fold if not. I think betting when you KNOW you are behind is a risky play with a guy like Tony.

I'm not trying to profess anything, I'm certainly not a "great" player, these are just my thoughts on this hand.

I think you answered your own question. I'd bet $150 just for consistency's sake. You obviously don't want a call. I mean if he truly NEVER calls a shove, then shove, but it looks a little more weird to me than more of a value bet--although the pot objectively is big enough.
