Just as a trip report on my first Omaha MTT ... despite what I said earlier, I think I'd now advocate playing tight early in the tourney.

I think playing LAG at the start is the best strategy. The players are so bad postflop that it makes sense to play more pots with them and for the pots to be bigger.

and I got it all in against someone who just had 47xx for an OESD and no other outs.
Several other times I would raise limpers in LP, get a couple of callers and they'd check to me. I'd usually check unless I hit 2pair or better. A lot of the time they'd check the turn again and fold to a PSB. Sometimes I had improved to 2pair on the turn or had a gutshot/oesd, sometimes I just had air. They were all very weak/tight if they didn't have much.

I can't play tonight - I'm about to catch a flight to Turning Stone. I don't think I'll be able to play too much over the next 10 days unless I'm playing in an FTOPS event at the same time.
I definitely agree that cashing does close to nothing - You really want to get in the top few spots. This is basically the case in any tournament.
