How do you get away from these situations ?($20FR)

Hey Guys,

This is about getting away from overpair after you raised PF.

$20NL (Cale Poker)

I have $36
Villlan $22.25 )BB)


I get [Kc] OTB

all folds to CO who raises .60, I re-raise $2.00, BB cold calls, CO calls


flop: [Th][6d] $6.10

Villan (BB) bets $3, CO folds, I raise $9, Villan Calls

turn:[6h] $24.10

Villan Bets $11 (ALL-IN), I cal $11

river:[9d]

Villan shows [Qh]



ANALYSIS:

First off, I did indeed make a note that the Villan (BB) lead into me for 1/2 pot with a set as this is a rarity. He could have had the folowing range AK,QQ,AQ,KQ,AT,AA,KK.KJ,J9,TT,66. Thats alot of combinations and most I am ahead of.

So how are you supposed to play this? Calling is wrong because you let KJ and maybe even AK ,J9 see a turn for cheap, If the flop was something like Q72 rainbow I may have just called his lead because thee are no draws out there. But even then it is prolly gonna get ALL-IN somewhere else in the hand, be it the turn or the river. Thoughts?


PS. In the futire what am I to do if the villan leads into me again? Say I have AA on a K82r board. Fold? Is that not INCREDABILY weak? Or is it ok to go broke whensome when spikes a set. Oh, and if he made a C/R on the flop instead of leading I woould have been BELLS going off and I may have folded on the flop and if not deffinatley to his turn lead.

Standard hand. Just unlucky

No way id get away from this. once you raise him on the flop. hes only got a half pot size bet which he puts in on the turn. cant fold here especially at those limits he could have a variety of hands you beat.

NB the beauty of leading into the raiser they will always raise you with the over pair by which time their committed on the turn.

raise more pre flop and raise more on flop is all I would say...

He played this pretty much perfectly. Nothing you could really do here. He never gave you a chance to get away from it. The only way I may have done this differently than he did is to check the turn and let you bet again, but even the way he played it, you're rarely if ever folding for less than a 1/2 pot bet on the turn.

Only way to avoid these situations is to quit poker. The only way to deal with this is go broke, reload, move on.
