You have to make that call, but you are probably behind. He could have and Jack + rag 2 pair or even a straight. You could have avaoided all this by folding [4s][5s] UTG. That save that in MP or LP.
2008 Goals:

1. Make $40K by year end.
2. Play at least 100hrs a month.
3. Read 5-10 new Poker Books w/ notes.
4. Become regular at $2/$4 FR
5. Try some $5/$10 FR
6. Work on Game non-stop.

I wouldnt have played such a marginal hand unless i was OTB and it was checked to me.

When youre UTG you have to concider what other people could have and only play the most premium of hands there for to limit how often you get nailed with a hand like this.

also dont be greedy i would have made a pot sized bet to start I rather have people fold and not have to worry about them catching cards. I only slow play when i have the nut :/

then again im not pro and prolly would have done something stupid like push here and then get beat by trips :( crai

I don't know, I think there is a lot of potential to holding those cards under the gun, calling $1 raises, just for the stacking potential for AA's and other decent hands.

The way you played it was fine, only thing I'd change is bet sizes, I think you should have made the flop bet $1.50(the more are involved in the pot, the larger you want the bets to be to drive out draws/random pairs hoping to hit two-pair), turn bet $2.50(just to get more money in while you're most likely ahead), and just call the river-bet. You're most likely behind, but you see a lot of random crap over there. If he's calling with a straight-draw he's not getting the right odds, and if he has higher two-pair than meh, what can you do?

I like flop and turn against a calling station. The river is a check or shove situation. I would probably shove because his most likely holding is a J.

You are probably almost never ahead here after getting C/Rd but I wouldn't put yourself in this spot by playing the river the way you did.

However, I question whether this guy is truly a station if he has WtSD% of only 17%.
