I decided to take a break for a week and I have currently been playing the 2$ and 3$ rebuy satelites on Stars for the APPT Seoul and the upcoming WCOOP events(I think it is WCOOP on stars).
I won my first one I entered with 1 rebuy at the beginning and I took the add on for a total of cost $6.30 or so. I won an entry 36+3 sat to the upcoming Satelite to the big tourney
I went to the satelite I won entry into and unregistered for the tourney and PS credited my account with $39 Special Tourney Dollars that can only be used in the "special events" at PS. I have played about 10 of these now and won a satelite seat in 7-8 of them, I have unregistered for all of the seats that I won an entry to and have been banking my Special TD's
My Special TD's are now sitting at over $220. With an initial investment of under $7, I have made enough to buy into a 200+15...
All of the subsequent rebuy satelites I bought into used my Special TD's for the initial registration and rebuys/add on. So this experiment has cost me less than 7 bucks.
Throwing this out there for folks to think about, as the players in these things are pretty terrible and most of these tourney's have been paying out between 8-14 seats. So a decent player with a short bankroll has a great shot at duplicating my results with a minimal hit to the BR...
