VP$IP question

So I know that vpip matters but it its not like a set number.

my vpip is around 23 on my tracker but my recent games have been between 15-20.

Im playing micro stakes using guidlines from Sklansky' small stakes I seem to do better when im sLA then again I might just have problems with being diciplined enough to get to 13-15 and still play the good hands i know i should.

I use poker tracker and I have my before and after states even though my afters are sort of skewed since i started multi tabling and went nuts the first time but now im only playing 2 tables and have read the book again and doing better

so any suggestions would be appreciated.

You don't state whether this FR or 6 max?

A VPIP of 23 is fine for 6 max as long as your aggression factor matches it. Say you had something like 23/3/1 this would be loose-weak and easy to run over. 23/13/3 is pretty standard stats for a 6 max tag.

I can't really comment much more as your post is a bit vague but if you're playing 6 max, anything below roughly 18% is probably too tight. At FR 15-18% is fine.

If I was you I'd be less concerned with VPIP generally and more concerned with your positional play. If you're just starting out at poker/noob then get a good grasp of positional play, raise limpers when you're in the C/O and OTB. If you can get a good understanding of positional play you'll be ahead of 70% of the guys at $10NL.
