He has to know you have a hand after you raise, unless he is a total moron(you didnt post a read on him). Best case he has a huge draw like
, more likely he has a set of 3's. I do this quite often with an aggressive PFR behind me. This is the perfect spot for the player in the middle to trap a bunch of dead money in the pot with a set. There is a good chance you are going to raise, the $2 bet is often a draw so there is a decent chance bettor calls your raise now there is a bunch of dead money in the pot for him to shove.
