Pokerstove/Theory discussion

So I have just gotten around to playing about with Pokerstove properly, I feel that recently I have not only been running pretty awful but getting my money in bad a bunch.

So I went into PT and called up my 20 biggest losers this month, and was staggered to find that 17 times out of 20, I got my money in behind on the turn, or flop.

I'd estimate 7 times of those have been coolers, like when someone flops a flush and I flop the nut straight, or someone flops a set to my overpair, or someone flops a queen in an AK vs AQ scenario AIPF, you get the picture.

That still leaves 10 times I got my money in bad. Which frankly, is awful. Or is it? Is it just bad, bordering on being standard, or is it just plain right awful?

So if you have the time, I'd like you guys to do the same and see what results we come up with, I'd be interested to see peoples results from their last 20 hands, which have been thier biggest losers, say this month, or last 15k hands, w/e.

Dunno how much discussion this will generate, but maybe it might do for others what it did for me and make me think a bit more about what I'm doing, and what others have.

If anyone wants to discuss Pokerstove more, not just regarding the above topic, then great, it's about time I learned more about this great tool.

Jimmy, I use PokerStove frequently when reviewing my sessions. What I do is find my equity vs. their range, and then I see if I still made a correct call given the range I put them on. I believe Phil Galfond coined the term G-bucks from doing this sort of analysis. G-Bucks are different than Skalansky bucks in that it is your equity vs. their entire range, rather than vs. their exact holding, which you will never know.

As you can see I am losing a ton of equity on my turned set because he specifically hit his gutshot. But at the time, I felt that he could have been making this play with a lot of 2 pair and combo draw type hands. Quickly running this range through PokerStove, we see that I have much more equity than had I just put him on the nuts every time, making my call of his shove "correct" under my assumptions of his range.
