river move. what do you do?

Hey,

first time here, how you all doing? Great.

PLO 25$. I've got 60$, I'm doing well but folding alot of because to my left is real LAG, bullying the table and getting his fair share of luck. 2 to his left is a solid tight player waiting for a big hand and cashin in on it but not a rock. Both have me covered.

I’m dealt [ Ac 6d 7s 7c ] and limp. I’ve been limping with most anything and doing all my work on the flop. 5 more callers. Sure I’m out of position but with LAG to my left I’m always out of position. Flop is 538 2 diamonds. Not amazing but 6 outs to a delicate nut. I bet the pot, a questionable move but I do it mostly to camouflage my hand if I hit and so that I’m not only betting with made hands (and so I’ll be able to bet a good amount if I hit) and get 3 callers.

Turn is a nice 4h. I bet the pot 7.6$ only Mr. tight calls. Big bet to call with a flush draw. m/b a set+flush draw? I think not. He would have raised a set on the flop. slow playing another 67? Could be, but would surprise me. 2or 3pair with flush draw? Sounds better.

River is 6. No flush, no boat. I’m second only to 79. I think for a while and that hand doesn’t make a lot of sence, +the fact that I’m looking at 7 of them. But not impossible. If he was a draw he wont call a bet now, but I still think I have the best hand.

What do you do?

He could have a wrap like 679x and decided wanted to make sure the board would stay safe. Since you think he's a solid guy, he's probably not calling without a good hand so I would check and hope he bluffs at the pot with a weaker hand and call him.

on another note, I would have folded that hand preflop, especially with a guy raising a lot of pots behind you

About folding pf, you could be right but there is a good chance to double up if i hit and i desided i wouldn't call a raise.

That's exaclty what i thouhgt about the river. i didn't think a 679 hand was likely b/c he'd know i wouldn't pay him of on the river if i missed, and he wouldn't want to give me a free card, the only think that could have been posible is if he had a flush draw and by chance also had 79 in there.

So i checked and got him to bluff the pot at me with 2pair and a busted flush draw.

I agree with both things Brian said here; no way he's paying you off with a WEAKER hand, so betting this is pointless. Also, because you have TWO sevens, you have blocking cards for the higher straight (i.e. there's only 2 7's left he could hold), reducing that likelihood. Best play is definitely to check-call and hope he bluffs.

Also, calling one bet with the specific intention of folding to a raise is not good omaha poker. If you are going to call one BB, you should at least be doing it with a hand that can stand a small raise or call a raise in a pot with multiple callers. Putting one BB in only to fold to a (likely) raise accomplishes little. IMO, your hand was pretty marginal on a table with regular preflop raises, but probably not the worst play in the world. The main problem with calling raises with these sort of hands is that your two best flops are both marginal and unlikely to be happy facing a big bet - you can hit a 7, which is liable to give you the second or bottom set (and with the raise preflop, one raise from the nut set could put you or your opponent pretty much all in), or a flush draw, which you'll have to fold to a full pot-sized bet more often than not. I must admit that one of my worst habits in omaha is calling one bet and then dumping my hand to a raise, but these days I do it rarely and certainly don't start a hand with the specific intention of doing so on an aggressive table!

On the flop I don't much like betting that hand into 5 opponents, a call is almost a certainty and you have nothing made, with, as you said, 6 outs to a delicate nut. I can't see how a bet there can possibly be +EV. Against maybe 2 opponents, where it's more likely they're playing high-orientated cards and thus may fold to a semi-bluff, betting is much more defendable and quite possibly usually the correct play.
