Often a miniraise on the flop means a draw of some kind so that they can get a free card on the turn.
I would seriously raise him on the flop here and see what it means.

If he flat calls that he has A9, set or is a donk. A reraise is a fold without any reads. If he is slightly donkish I am propably paying off.

The way you played I am calling this and making a blocking bet on the river which does not have to be very big in order to scare him.

Faced with a raise I would fold.

Unless he's an absolute retard and thinks his ATo is the nuts the minraise kinda smells like two pair to me. In his notes I had him labelled as an Ace Master

That flop MR usually means he has a weakish ace (like AT) and wants to know where he is...I prolly CR the turn.
