So shortly after I read this I sat at NL10 for 16 hands and actually came up with a couple examples of how to play these n00bs

Reads: 3 of the 5 opponents were the type of fishes we are talking about and 2 were johnny naked types with a mildly better understanding of the game, prolly raking in the microlimit bux (dezzzed and chessmann_68).

Earnings: we made 5$ 1/2 a BI and on track for a what? 10,000bb/100 winrate or some such nonsense.

Paired flops like this are perfect to bluff on at these limits and one flop bet will tell you where you are at in the hand. He has an over pair your getting raised, he has a draw he's just calling. Timing also plays a part...if he still calls, but it takes 10 years he still might have an overpair anyway and we can bet if an over hits or give up on the hand. This hand he snapcalled the .80$ so pretty obviously a flush draw...we bet him off on the turn notice the almost full pot bet (1.80 so the bet looks bigger than it would if we bet 2$...this makes a diff at these stakes). He folded and we won the pot

No BS preflop w/ AA...we dont want to have a big multiway pot here, and w/ the EP raise we might get action...They all fold, we win pot.

Hand 1 is beyond horrible.

Hand 2 is standard, but you could try cold calling and getting his money.[edit: never saw the third guy at first. Raise is too small make it 3-4x plus 1 caller-->1.20-1.50]

Hand 3 is also pretty bad.


The fact is you arent going to make money at these limits by bluffing. You stand to lose a LOT of money by bluffing. You are going to make money by value betting when we are ahead and folding when you fall behind.


If you never bluffed at NL10, you would save a shitload of $.

This whole thread is very tl;dr but to the original poster, whom I feel slightly sorry for having his genuine post hijacked by a load of old bullshit, I'd highly recommend listening to the Skypecast that Excession did with Roy and Twelver.

There's a section on that Skypecast that Roy speaks exclusively about continuation betting and imo you'd struggle to find any information that's clearer or more useful on any forum on that particular subject.
