Its kind of like an advance river blocking / value bet.
If I call the turn bet, the pot is $72. If the guy bets $50 on the river I cant really call can I ? I mean maybe he would do that with QT or less but most people will be afraid to bet the river.
Once I min raise him, if he calls, hes going to check the river to me almost every time and I can check behind. If he has QT or less, I got $24 more out of him than I wouldve if I had called the turn and checked the river behind.
If I had called the turn and he checked the river, I might make a smallish value bet but wouldnt expect him to call with worse anyway so my river bet wouldnt be big.
He might fold KQ to the min turn raise. Obviously not every time, but if he folds it just 10% of the time it has to be profitable to fold him out , and / or stop him from betting the river, right?
