I'm not followin this "some country is good" idea. far as i can tell, all country music is basically two songs

song 1. take me back to the ole homestead, to simpler times and frolicksome fun!

Beavis, you and I are old enough to remember how much all the music critics hated Zep back in the '70s - you should've heard the abuse I had to put up with from peers too when I went to see them at Knebworth in '79 ("How can you go and see them when you've just seen the Clash? What are you, a fucking hippy?" lol@the new orthodoxy) - because they were larger than life, successful and therefore uncool; then the aforementioned hacks had to re-evaluate them when time showed that their brand of rock was pretty definitive, REM started using JPJ to produce, rap acts started sampling Bonham's drums, GnR eulogised about em etc etc.

Which goes to show that most of the time critics are indispensable in sorting the wheat from the chaff, but occasionally they get it horribly wrong.

Shame no one's mentioned Neil Young/Crazy Horse in this thread yet, so here it is:
