Well, I've ventured to the 5/10 6 max table, and in the first two days, I made about $1200 (120 BB). It was unbelieveable, and I was getting good cards as well as getting lucky and playing against weak opponents. I went around on some of the other forums for advice and was pointed to this thread. However, since reading it, I've lost about 50 BB today.. I know it's not bad advice, but I think the transition to implimenting your advice will take me some time.
Anyways, I was wondering how big swings can be in the game. Also, I can't seem to play multitable... either my attention is poor, or I have reading trouble since the action is so fast and furious at times when multi tabling. In fact, all my losing sessions (save 1) were from multi-tabling the 6 max. I'll rack up about 30 BB on one table while down 20 BB each on two others. Then I try to concentrate more on the losing tables, and my winning table becomes a losing table. It's really frustrating.
Of course, I use PT, and it's registered. This is the first time I've ever played 6 max at any limit, and I have a bankroll of $3500. I've got about 1300 hands right now of SH 6 max play at 5/10 in my PT database. Here are the stats:
1304 hands, Amount won $666.15 BB/100 = 15. VP$IP 32% PF Raise 15%
My biggest losing hand is KQo, followed by K8o and ATo. (I have to look into why the hell I'm playing K8o)
My biggest winning hands are AA, 99, 77, KK, ATs, TT, KQs. I've gotten AA 12 times and won 83% for $300+ Which is about half of my overall profits.
What I seem to run into is the sheriff more often than not. I can't seem to collect enough from them, and they seem to win big pots from me. On the same table as the sherrif is the ultra aggressive player, who jams it up often and making me have to consider folding more often than not. It seems like my money goes to the sherrif, who then in turns gives it to the aggressive guy, who uses it to bully me around. When I first started 6 max, I watched people call other people down with stuff like jack high.... but now, after playing it for a while, I haven't been able to find people that stupid anymore.
