M9man-

I like your aggression stats. However, i think your VP and PFR numbers are a teensy bit low. I like 28-32% VP and probly 15% PFR. Also, i feel like you are probably doing what a lot of beginning players do, which is being alot less aggressive on the turn than on the flop. This is natural, because often times you figure, when someone is showing aggression on the turn when your hand should be obvious to them, then they probly have it beat, one way or the other, right? However, after watching the better SH players over thousands and thousands of hands, i have learned that they are not afraid to put in a raise with a strong TP hand on the turn...And more often than not, they are good. My guess, without going into too much detail, is that you dont jam those types of hands enough on the turn, it can be a mistake not only in terms of value, but also in terms of protecting your hand. There arent too many hands that are going to be able to cold call that raise, and most draws except for maybe an openended straight flush or nut flush draw would be making a mistake to call (not that that would stop them)-- and so you will often will win some more bets this way, and/or save yourself a bad beat or two.

Im just speculating as to why your PFA is 2.3 and your flop is over 3...

That said--dude! 376 hands is nothing! You may not be too tight at all PF, you just mightve had a crappy run of cards. There are entire sessions where i am probly 20% VP, and others where im close to 40, it just depends on how hot or cold the cards are...

Thanks KS! Looking over this thread, i cant beleive i actually wrote all this godawful drivel. But i guess the good news is that with the activity that this forum gets, by the time this post makes it more than ten or so off the top, we'll be playing psychic mind-to-mind poker via computer chip implants, with teleporters to transfer money.

Hey all. Well, I looked over the crap i wrote a bit back on SH for the first time in a while, and realize that there is some stuff in there that i dont think is exactly right anymore. I have come a fair ways as a player since then, and even though all the general principles i still think are correct, i think slightly more TAGgy play is called for than i advocate...Dont get me wrong, SH is still a jammitup, relatively aggro game. But i think VP should be in the high 20s, like 29 maybe, and i think if you go by what i posted, it would be somewhere in the low 30s like 32.

Particularly my opinions on what I think about limping in EP, and about suited connectors, and weak aces and how to play them, have changed.

So, I revamped [Edited] a little bit and am going to revamp a bit more soon- Slightly tighter, less limping and more raising, and slightly different hand values... Along with just some general reorganization. I hadnt ever really come back to look at them, but now i see they can use some improvement, so i figure ill do it, since i dont want to dissemmiate wrong info, as it seems as though lots of people have read it (appreciate that!).

Most of the stuff i still think is correct, but im going to tune it up (already did a little bit)

Uhm- Im not exactly shure what 'FL' means...Im assuming NL means no limit, and FL probably the opposite, as in a limit player? If thats your question the answer is that the games i am writing about are strictly limit- and i myself am pretty much exclusively a limit player, except very randomly when i get in the mood for NL.

Well, I've ventured to the 5/10 6 max table, and in the first two days, I made about $1200 (120 BB). It was unbelieveable, and I was getting good cards as well as getting lucky and playing against weak opponents. I went around on some of the other forums for advice and was pointed to this thread. However, since reading it, I've lost about 50 BB today.. I know it's not bad advice, but I think the transition to implimenting your advice will take me some time.

Anyways, I was wondering how big swings can be in the game. Also, I can't seem to play multitable... either my attention is poor, or I have reading trouble since the action is so fast and furious at times when multi tabling. In fact, all my losing sessions (save 1) were from multi-tabling the 6 max. I'll rack up about 30 BB on one table while down 20 BB each on two others. Then I try to concentrate more on the losing tables, and my winning table becomes a losing table. It's really frustrating.

Of course, I use PT, and it's registered. This is the first time I've ever played 6 max at any limit, and I have a bankroll of $3500. I've got about 1300 hands right now of SH 6 max play at 5/10 in my PT database. Here are the stats:

1304 hands, Amount won $666.15 BB/100 = 15. VP$IP 32% PF Raise 15%

My biggest losing hand is KQo, followed by K8o and ATo. (I have to look into why the hell I'm playing K8o)

My biggest winning hands are AA, 99, 77, KK, ATs, TT, KQs. I've gotten AA 12 times and won 83% for $300+ Which is about half of my overall profits.

What I seem to run into is the sheriff more often than not. I can't seem to collect enough from them, and they seem to win big pots from me. On the same table as the sherrif is the ultra aggressive player, who jams it up often and making me have to consider folding more often than not. It seems like my money goes to the sherrif, who then in turns gives it to the aggressive guy, who uses it to bully me around. When I first started 6 max, I watched people call other people down with stuff like jack high.... but now, after playing it for a while, I haven't been able to find people that stupid anymore.
