just played close to 250 hands at UB 25 NL

before i started the sesh i decided i would try something a bit different to usual

basically any hand that met my normal pre flop limping requirements i was going to raise...

so that meant open raising all PP's.. SC's in position and Axs.. and AK, AQ to somewhere between 4x and 6x the bb

now if the pot was already raised i would play as normal.. ie 10x rule for PP's and most likely fold SC's and Axs..

i would also bet pot at almost every flop.. just like i would if i had my normal raising standards..

i was curious as to how often my raises and continuation bets would be called and what effect i would have on the tables..

so here are the results

hands played - 244
vpip - 16.7
won WSF - 42. 2
went to SD - 30
Won at SD - 70
PFR - 10

so there you have it.. id be more than happy to have those numbers every session

thankfully i made $26 to match the tasty numbers!

i was getting 3-4 callers every time i raised but my continuation bets were still only being called maybe %25 of the time...
theres some good profits there and then add the fact that anyone who is paying attention sees me raising every 10 hands or so.. and cant put me on a hand very easily

plus theres the added benifit of people seeing you raise preflop.. bet the flop.. check the turn and river and show a hand like 45s..

BR at UB is now $411

just played for an hour on UB..

this was my 2nd session of raising a lot more hands preflop and im happy to say it went well again

stats

hands 194
vpip 15
wsf 53 <------ yum yum.... i guess when you only see flops which you have raised this is what happens
went to SD 30
won at SD 66
PFR 10 <--------- this is what my PFR was last session..

amount won $53

so 2 buyins in an hour.. i would happily take that any day of the week
but im not getting too excited about this raising alot more business..

it is interesting what it does to people tho..

for example i raise a suited connecter in LP.. 2 callers including a guy ive had over 500 hands with in MP.. he is a winning player and seems solid.. other guy is UTG

flop A 9 2

both call my continuation bet.. then i go into check/fold mode.. . on the river MP bets pot and i fold.. other guy calls and wins with AK while MP shows AJs

i have no doubt that if i hadnt been raising so much MP would muck a hand like this in no time... he probably had me pegged as a maniac and was looking to win a nice pot with a weaker hand..

also i think UTG had the same mindset with his AK..

if raising a lot PF turns better players into passive calling stations then im a happy man..

a problem is though that the longer the session goes the more my continuation bets get called.. maybe short sharp sessions are needed

i should add that i won almost a buy in with 2 AA hands...

was up against KK both times...

the 2nd one was interesting..
previous hand a guy goes all in with only limpers preflop...

no callers

i say in chat " that looks like fun"

im dealt AA in late poz.. im thinking haha if ever theres a chance to go allin with AA preflop its now.. ive done it a few times and been called but thats another issue

someone in EP raises 3.5x bb .. i type " i wanna try" and go all in

EP thinks for ages and calls..

guess what he shows...

thats right KK

haha poor bastard.. he prolly knew something wasnt right and he prolly fully expected to see my rockets shooting right up his arse!!

it feels good to have AA vs KK twice in a sesion and have them hold up..

hopefully next time im copping some beats i can look back at entries like this and realise that it it does even out

just played for 2 hours..

2 tabling
1 table at UB and 1 table at pacific

i always play 50nl at pacific and decided to play some 50 at UB at the same time
bankroll at UB doesnt quite support 50 yet but i have almost 9 buyins so i thought id see how i go..

stats combined sites

hands 162
vpip 11.7
won WSF32
[/b] went SD[/b] 16
won at SD 60
PF raise 3

amount won UB $25
amount won pacific $8

hehe very dry session but still managed to win on both sites..

hit a set on UB and milked the guy with top pair weak kicker for max value..

hit a nut flulsh on pacific and the other guy had a lower flush.. sadly the board was paired and i had too much respect for the other player and only got half his chips instead of all of them..

think ill post the nut flush hand in NL section and see if i can get some feedback

havent posted for a few days but have had some good sessions

tonite had a funny last hand.. was talking to someone and then i said in chat... "last hand for me then im off..

sure enough i get KK.. i raise.. a shortstack goes all in,... i re raise big to isolate.. and the flop comes KKT......

a guy thanks me and says he folded TT after i re raised big...

haha didnt think id ever complain when i hit quads

anyway.............

ive been playing at 50nl on UB this week and all has gone nicely

below are the stats for the hands ive played so far at 50 nl at UB

hands 1110
VPIP 14
won WSF 28.5
went to SD 17
won at SD 55
PF raise 4.2

amount won $90
PTBB/100 8

couldnt ask for a better start to this limit... on pacific ive logged over 15k hands at 50nl so it was only bankroll that had me at 25

UB bankroll is now $620 so no worries there for now...
hopefully i dont hit a bad streak and have to drop back down..

ive only been 2 tabling so far.. i think at times 3 tabling im definately making mistakes due to having action on 2 or even 3 tables at once..

one problem is that when i can play the most hours.. it is something like 3-4 am in the states.. meaning that on UB there are usually only 2 full tables of 50nl..

im havin an incredible session on pacific...

in the last 10 mins ive had quad 5's...
then a boat with AK .. aces full of kings

then AK the very next hand which turned a straight... on a board of 9 10 J Q.. can anyone say DREAM BOARD!! except there were 2 to a suit.. so i had to keep the pressure on.. im pretty sure he was chasing the flush coz he folded fairly meekly

sadly only the quads went to showdown.. haha

im up a full buyin.. i dont know whether i should be disapointed with that or excited..

oh on another note ive decided to employ a 5x buyin rule on pacific...

the money i have on pacific is almost dead money.. as its so slow i find myself hardly ever playing there... only being able to 1 table is bad enough.. and then the players are so stupid that they always take the full timer..

so im willing to play on that site with higher risk but also hopefully a higher return BR..
if i lose it well thats ok coz i wont want to redeposit.. if i keep winning then i can quickly build a huge roll...

my roll is $550 there at the moment..so im playing at $100.. if it drops below $250 ill go back to $50.. and so on..

even at $100 the tables regularly have a vpip of over 50...thats a full ring table....
this stays constant all the way up to the $600 tables..

i almost dont want to talk about this as i dont want BTP'ers to come over.. haha but its pretty safe to say that the software is so bad that no one willl be able to stand it... and its so slow.. (30 hands an hour sound good to anyone?)

just played at UB for almost 3 hours... i rarely get the time for good sessions like that..

stats

hands 373
VPIP 15
Won WSF 30
went SD 20
won at SD %66

fairly typical stats for me.. except for my winrate of 36 PTBB/100 :D

so a fairly profitable session.. i lost a hand with a small SC where i hit my flush.. and lost to a higher flush but i kept the pot reletivly small so not too upset there..

i limp re raised AA all in from UTG.. good fun there...
then later i tried the ol check re raise all in on the flop with AA against a shortstack .. good fun there too

was just one of those sessions where i won every hand where i got all my money in and was favourite.. funny how that is surprising

so far since moving up ive played 2.5k hands at 50 and am sitting on 9.5 PTBB/100
i would be cheering if i could maintain that rate but im not sure if i can..

2.5k hands is fairly small and yeh.. would love 20k hands before i can predict a win rate.. cept if im still at 10bb/100 i wouldve moved up by then.. so yeh

pleyed almost 1000 hands on UB over the weekend.,. and all i have to say is GOD DAMN TIGHT MUTHA FUKERS...

i seriously couldnt get on a table with a VPIP over 25!! this is at 50NL...

i mustve sat at around 30-40 different tables too..

saying that after 1000 hands i won just under 1 buyin but it was tough..

all my profit came from blind stealing/ continuation bets/ bluffs...
the biggest pot i won was half a stack.. the biggest pot i lost was about the same..

acccckkk i hope this ubertightness stops soon

ive got PT up and running.. with a newer version too apparently..

im fuked if i can get it to show only todays hands tho... i used to have to tweak the "my day starts at" thingy.. but now i cant get anything to come up...,

ah well im up somewhere close to a buyin today after something like 500 hands..
all very exciting really..

it seems by ub roll is now a tasty $910.. so i guess i won 40ish

ive been ready AP10's journal.. and i find it really interesting that he can play 3000 hands in a day and lose a fair bit... when sometimes i might only play 3000 hands in 2 weeks... it shows how much varience there is in poker...

i wonder how many ppl have 1 tabled for months and maybe played only 5k hands in that time.. to then have a bad run and go. well i havent made money in months screw this. im quitting poker forever!!!

but to someone who plays 3k hands a day.. its just a bad day..
i wonder how many hands u need to play to get a firm hard bb/100

100k? 200k? by the time i played 100k hands 3 tabling my game wouldve changed and evolved anyway...

so i dont think its all that possible to get a firm idea of your bb/100... a thing like opposition skill on a particular site is likely to change in that time too

ah well

for some reason this morning PT decided to show me only hands from today...

moody bitch of a program

UB 50 NL 3 tabling , 1.2 hours

hands 240
VPIP 14.5
Won WSF 31.8
went to SD 14
won at SD %83
PFR 2

amount won $34 @ 14.35PTBB/100 hands

ackk talk about nut peddling..
didnt get any raising hands.. and so on

won $20ish with the mighty J6 in the BB..

flop was 6JJ... turn and river completed a flush which 2 guys had...

haha silly bastards.. sadly one had a low flush and folded after i turned up the heat but i got the short stack allin..

it feels silly to play all these premium hands and get jackshit and then win money on a horses arse of a hand like J6

With pokertracker, have you tried checking the "Use old logic..." box and trying out different times? I had a similiar problem with trying to find out my daily stats but after enough fiddling around I managed to get them to show.
Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
