I did play NL for a while... and I do appreciate the added complexity of no limit betting, at this point I'm trying to play a game of low variance, which is why I've stuck with limit.

Desperately (But not that desperate), trying to build my bankroll steadily, and I feel that limit is the best place for me, still.

I suspect I may eventually, if successful (and with a much larger bankroll), start playing more no limit.

Thanks for the post, it's nice to know someone is actually reading this mess.

While I've been slacking a bit on my journal updates, I've not been slacking at the poker tables.

Since my last update I played 5,569 hands at various limits and have registered at Eurobet with a rakeback deal.

I've unlocked ~$300 worth of bonuses at various sites and earned about $100-150 in rakeback. It would have been more rakeback, but I was reading the fine print at full tilt and apparently the money they normally send to affiliates, first gets the bonus money they paid out to me directly cut from it.

The first couple days were very blah, the last 2 days were me stomping.

In all my poker winnings were +$726.35, and somewhere around $425 in bonuses and rakeback, making my net in the last several days something around $1050.

I'm very satisfied with my play lately and things are turning around for the month. Including bonuses and rakeback earned, I'm in positive numbers for the first time this month. Up, what I estimate to be around $500



I expect I'll be doing a majority of my online play at Eurobet from now on. I really appreciate the table selection of the party network, and found the best rakeback deal at Eurobet out of the skins.

Another couple of days of poker gone by, thought I'd stop in and post results, at least.

I'm up $700 since my last post, about half of which is in bonuses and rakeback. That extra money sure adds up fast.

I'll make a longer more detailed post another time, I'm feeling like going to bed/watching TV.

Attack of the mega donkey, just got told off by the king donkey. This hand really takes the cake and made me slam my head into the desk. I litterally got up from the table immediately and went to the store for a drink. I needed it.

There was 3 players just like this guy at the table, 40%+ VP$IP, WT SD % around 45%, Won Money around 40%.

Now I asked him after the hand,

"Why'd you call to the river with king high, then make second pair and check behind me?"

His response,

"Well, I thought you had a pair of aces."

I just about started to cry, the table was THAT bad and I was still losing.


To explain why this is so bad, it's actually a very marginal hand and I wasn't at all surprised to have lost it. I get beats worse than this all the time. It was just his reasoning after the hand.

The guy had a monster! Donkeys hit their gutshots 50% of the time, factor in backdoor draw to trips and KJ is a winner 75% of the time in Donkeyland. Eeee Ore!
