Sitting at the Taj 1/2 NL game. I have stack of about $170. Opponent has me covered and seems to be buying a lot of pots after the flop. Somewhat loose but solid.
I have JTo in the bb and get to see the flop for free. There are two limpers. Pot is $6
Flop comes Q94 rainbow. I check, limper checks, bully bets $10. Now, many people at this table DO NOT take pot size into account so you see a lot of $10-$15 bets into $6-$8 pots. I call, limper folds.
Pot is $24 after rake. Turn is another 9. I check it again, he bets $20 and I fold.
I think a better way to play it would have been to lead out on the flop or checkraise the flop but if he called, I would be out of position and need to use a lot of my stack. I also could have lead out the turn representing trips but he could have had the 9 also. This was before I won a couple big pots and was getting everyone's respect. Help is appreciated.
