As for the actual topic, what about opening a new locked section where extremely good posts (such as those regarding specific hands) can be stored for posterity. Obviously it would only include posts of monumentally high quality and thus I'd be pretty much excluded by default. You could call it the "hall of fame" or something, and everyone could acces the nuggets of greatest wisdom without having to wade through pages upon pages of other less useful posts.

Any member could suggest posts, but probably only one or two individuals (say, test and iceman, maybe the odd moderator) could be allowed to move stuff into it.

Much more constructive than a bad beats and whining forum imo.

Hmmm... This would be my suggestion:

Just have a separate section that is read-only for Classic Hands/Hall of Fame--basically, the same as just the NLHE section. But then have sub-sections within it, if that's doable. I would think NLHE, LHE and Omaha would be enough sub-sections, although Omaha itself also has some variations (pot-limit, limit, hi-lo, etc.).

Also, I wouldn't just move the original post unedited to that section. Instead, after the hand has been discussed, if it seems like one to go in there, I think it would be a good idea to ask the poster to write it up more as a short article to include the interesting aspects of the hand. A lot of the time the original poster intentionally leaves these things out to get everyone thinking about these things on their own--certainly not a bad idea for the initial post, but I think it would be better to just lay them out clearly, with all of the various thoughts going into the play of the hand, if it's more of an archive of "seminal" hands.

Don't know exactly the technical aspects of setting that up, but that would be my initial suggestion if it makes sense from the standpoint of technical ease for you in managing the site.

I wouldn't really want to swamp the forum with HoF versions of the existing categories we have. I suggest that at least for now we have one HoF section, locked, and label very clearly what goes into it with a convention in the subject line or some kind of content tags within the article, so we can construct search links to HoF posts in a particular subcategory.

E.g. tags like this could go at the end of the HoF post.
