This hand is indicative of my game today. I won a couple, but I'm down for the day. Depressing.

5 people left, pays 3. I'm big stack with somewhere around 6k. I'm in CO with AA.

The guy to my immediate right bets somewhere around 1500, half of his stack. He's LAGgy. I call. Big blind, sitting on around 4k bets enough to put him all in. To be honest, I thought she bet enough to be all-in herself, but I was paying attention to another game too and didn't realize she had left somewhere around 300 behind.

The original raiser calls and I call (I'd have put her in then, but as I said, didn't realize).

So the flop comes Qxx and the BB thinks for quite a while. At this point I realize she's got like 305 in her stack and the pot's astronomical in comparison. I'm betting it and she's calling it, so I cajole her, "Go ahead and bet it.". She does and I call, of course.

Original bettor turns over Q9 off. Big blind turns over 99. There are 4 cards that can hurt me.

Turn is a blank, River the case 9. Congratulations, we have a new chip leader, an elimination, and I'm now the short stack on the bubble.

Yep, that's how my day went today.


Tried playing some HU too.

In one of them, I had a 2:1 or better chip lead and a 3:1 or better advantage the first three times I pushed in and was called. Unfortunately my opponent must have been from Ireland and spent the weekend humping the blarney stone, because he sucked out those first three times and finally took me out.

Ah well, that's poker, right?
