I like the stop and go in later position or in the blinds with only one caller/raiser preflop. If I'm in the SB and say the cutoff makes a smallish raise then I feel better flat calling and pushing the flop. With multiple (potentially) players in the hand with you the odds are a lot less that everyone will miss the flop completely. I could be off on this, but that's my thinking.
The squeeze is a different story, but even Harrington says it's the type of thing you don't want to do too often, as better players will pick up on it.
