WSOP 2005 - Final Table (9 to 5 players) was shown last night on Challenge - it''s the first time I've seen it on UK TV - I expect the final episode will be shown tonight.
The thing that surprised me was how prone to tilt even the best players get when really udner pressure. Matsow was on tilt from hand one when his KK ran into AA and was first to bust out (he was a bit unlucky to get busted but had played like a steaming maniac and as the name pro a calmer approach might have been preferable).
Lazar folded A4 pre-flop against two small pairs and saw the board end up AAxAx -but that put him on tilt so fast he ws out within two hands - calling all-ins with QTo etc..
Only guy I felt sorry for was Kondracki who got his money in with the best of it.
I thought Black played well but he could have extracted far more wih his trip 555's.
The other point is that Hashim (who won eventually) was a very quiet short stack (c2m) and was one of the few not making moves.
I t was interesting to see though..
