I returned to Party, where I built my bankroll at the $50s, and I was laughing about this last night.
I've been on Prima for the past 3500 hands, and I'm running at 19.5 PTBB/100. I've tightened up quite a bit, and it's shown. Of course, flopping a set 20% of the time from a PP sure has helped.
So why not try Party since they have a reload? I'm playing good TAG poker and seem to be resisting my bluff addiction.
$100 NL 6-max
Guy at table is a total fish. VPIP over 60% and pfr over 20%. I've had TPTK several times and he has routinely called pot sized on every street with 2nd pair no draw. I swear he removed his fold button from the software. He's mouthing off, put a bad beat on another guy, and now has a 1.5 stack.
I limp UTG with AA in 6-max (that's how aggressive the table was). He bets x5, his other opponent calls, I push in $150. Total fish calls me with JJ. Of course, river a J and he starts talking smack.
Okay that's variance.
Several hands later, I'm flush over flushed at 6-max. Okay that's variance.
Several hands later, I flop a set, he raises so I just push a full stack from LP. He calls with a gutshot and hits. Okay that's just variance.
Several hands later, I have trip Js with KJ and other guy flopped set. Okay that's variance, but enough.
Now why is it people don't play at Party? Oh yea, now I remember.
So I decide after losing 3 3/4 buyins in like 30 minutes to go down to the $50s. Heck it's where I built my bankroll before party split.
In 52 hands of $50NL 6-max I won 3 1/4 buyins. I pushed the nuts twice and was called by hands you would not believe. Maybe I'm just cursed at $100NL there as I am a career loser at Party $100NL but a winner everywhere else. LOL
Party is just ridiculous. It's like driving on the street, taking a right turn and suddenly you are on a NASCAR track with 50 other cars bumbing, drafting, boxing. You just look around and go, "WTF?"
I was actually chuckling as I went to sleep even being down.
