Yeah I was 90% sure it was 99 only reason I figured 33 could be possible was the check on the flop since I would expect the average player to protect his overpair there.
It really doesn't matter what he has or doesn't have and not to put too fine a point on it, calling with A5 even if you "know" he has AJ or AQ is just plain stupid. How often do you think the flop will come A5x when you're holding A5 (and he's holding another Ace). What will happen if x is HIS kicker (a hint, same thing as happened here). Even IF your read is correct you should fold.
You also have another caller infront of you, this is not a HU pot.
You can just as well call with 72o and "hope" he has AA and the flop will come 72T. There's a word for people that play like that, here's a hint: blub blub blub
I meant this post in a semi-jesting fashion so I hope you don't take it as harsh, but fact still remains that:
- You called preflop knowing you were behind with the classic fishy trap hand, Ace rag off suit.
- You flopped a monster and gave your opponent(s) a free shot to draw out on you
- Once you were behind you got almost all your money in when you should have known you were beaten
So let's say it together...
