Got the same bad run (only problem was that it was on a level too high ).

I also know when they have hit even when it is something crazy I see the river hit and think.....oh no he has that remote hand that I had beat all the way.

The problem only is I still pay that one bet on the river. I don't go raising or anything but pot odds say I can't lay it down. I find that so hard to do when i play cash.

Yeah, limit definitely sucks.

One comment, though. You probably shouldn't be a slave to pot odds all the time. If you know that Villain only bets/raises with TP or better, you can lay down your hand sometimes if you can't beat what he's representing. How often really just depends on how consistent Villain is. I've known Villains against whom I could lay down to just about every time... and they'd often show me that I was right to do so. Against some reliable and unimaginative opponents, I'll lay down as much as 50% of the time, but I'll start looking them up if I think they're getting cheeky. Against trickier opponents who will sometimes bluff scare cards, I'll try to save a big bet about 10-20% of the time (depends on pot size). The 10% is my default if I don't have a read. Against LAGs, I will almost never fold as they are often betting/raising missed draws on the river.

Anyway, against very consistent non-tricky players, do yourself a favor and fold when you're beat every once in a while. You can save a lot of BBs that way (at least 1 bb/100 if not more... depends on the game and the Villains).

Why I hate low limit 6max

I was playing some HU at a 6max table, and the table started to fill up when I was OTB. As usual, I decided to play until my BB came around (playing relatively tight). I had two pair on the flop and played it fast. One guy raised, but almost everyone stayed in. The turn brought an undercard that made a straight possible, and an EP player woke up and opened the pot. A few people folded, and then the same douchebag who raised it on the flop raised again on the turn. EP reraised. Same thing happened on the river.

It was so obvious to me that EP had the straight, but the douchebag (who had a lower 2pr than me) didn't think about that and just said something like "two pair -- I'm raising". Given that you're not really looking at a lot of trickeration at the lower limits, the proper play would have been to call the turn hoping to fill up on the river, and showdown cheaply if you don't. This guy just made it expensive for everybody when he was WAY behind (I ended up laying down to the turn reraise).

These kinds of guys are great to have around if you have the straight, set, etc., but they can make good but vulnerable hands a real pain in the ass to play. Yet another reason I like HU... I don't have to worry about these douches pricing me out of my draws and cheap showdowns.

I am getting pretty decent rake contribution numbers by this method.

Go to Game Notes tab. Then click on get all. The avg rake divided by APH (avg player on hand) gives you a very good number about your rake contribution. I have been using this to calculate rake back at FTP and UB and I am getting always relative error of no more than 4-5%. Until now, my MGR has been always more than what I get by this calculation.

On other note, that rake IS a killer on those stakes. I never thought it wass that much! 4BB/100 hands is just insane! I wonder how much it is on NL$25, NL$50 and NL$100...I will check that...

Sorry MVP... brain was, um, inhibited last night, so I don't think I really answered your question.

at levels 2/4 and above, most sites only rake $1 once the pot reaches $20. This is the max for 2-3 handed. Up to 3/6, this results in most hands not being raked. A typical hand will have a pfr, a CB and call on the flop, and another bet on the turn. with this sequence, the pot only breaks $20 if bets are called on the turn. i tend to play a relatively controlled game, so i really don't get into pissing contests pf or on the flop. as such, only the relatively big hands pay the rake.

stars is sweet because you only pay $0.50 at $20 and then another $0.50 at $40 when playing 2-3 handed. while you still rarely pay rake at 3/6, you only pay 2.5% or less when you do. the stars structure is nice, but it's hard to get and keep a HU game for any amount of time. that, and you don't have the advantage of datamined PT stats. how much is THAT worth?
